FLOYDELLE KAY MAKAY NIEUWENDORP

Floydelle Kay MaKay Nieuwendorp, the daughter of Floyd Harm and Agnes (Johnson) Sudenga was born on March 8, 1938 in George, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from the George High School, she went on to further her education and received her Bachelors degree in Education from Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa. Kay taught school in Sibley, West Bend and Sheldon, Iowa. On June 30, 1967, Kay was united in marriage to Willard Henry Nieuwendorp in George, Iowa. Kay worked at Hy-Vee for 5 years; she was a teacher and a Life Skills Instructor for the Village Northwest in Sheldon until she retired in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard on December 11, 2011; Kay remained in her home until moving to Fieldcrest. She passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 78 years, 8 months and 9 days.
She was a member the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, the ladies circle, she had taught Sunday School and was a Youth Group Leader for RCYF, she was also a member of the Gideons. She enjoyed puzzles, listening to music, playing games, reading and studying her bible, sharing her faith with everyone she met, and also she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children and their spouses, Jim and Tina Nieuwendorp of Sheldon, Iowa; Karen and Tom De Boom of Sheldon, Iowa and Kristi and Shiran Nathaniel of Sioux City, Iowa; six grandchildren, Alexandria Lexie, Brian and Alaina Laney Nathaniel; Jacob and Jenna Sample and Joshua Nieuwendorp; two sisters and their husbands, Sharon and Keith Culver of Stewartville, Minnesota and Beth and Rod Hulstein of Melvin, Iowa and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; and her parents.
