            Georgia Ann Wahlstrom, age 90 of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her residence at Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon, Iowa. Her service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Faith Community Church in Sheldon with Rev. Kevin Gingerich ~ officiating.

Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa.

There will be no Visitation.

In Lieu of flowers the Family wish that all Memorials be directed to the Orange City Hospice

GEORGIA ANN WAHLSTROM

    Georgia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cancer survivor, faithful servant of God, an example of a life well lived. Georgia Ann (Seaman) Wahlstrom, the second daughter of George and Lorrene (Adams) Seaman was born on December 22, 1932 in Scranton, Iowa.  She attended Scranton Consolidated School. She attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Upon completion she worked at the Atomic Energy Commission in Ames, Iowa. It was here she met Duane, a student at Iowa State College. Georgia and Duane were married on September 5, 1954 in Scranton. They lived in Ames, Paton, Odebolt, moving to Sheldon in August of 1974. Georgia was a mother, grandmother, homemaker, secretary and bookkeeper, retiring from the Eye Care Center in 1994. She also served as a secretary for Duane during his eight years as Mayor.

     Georgia was an active member of the Faith Community Church, serving on various committees and boards. She and Duane were Financial Secretaries of the church for 28 years. During her retirement she helped others by taking them to doctor’s appointments/running errands. Playing Bridge brought her great joy, never missing a chance to play.

     Georgia peacefully completed her life journey on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her home in Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon, Iowa, reaching the age of 90 years, 8 months and 25 days.

     Georgia leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Duane of 69 years, and their 3 children, Barbara Jo Carter of Burlington, Iowa; Beverly Ann Wahlstrom of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Craig Alan (Sheila) Wahlstrom of Sheldon; 2 granddaughters, Sarah Wahlstrom and Carrie (Nate) DeGroot; 3 brothers and their wives, Bob and Elaine Seaman of Carroll, Iowa; Wendell and Paula Seaman of McKinney, Texas; Wayne and Shirley Seaman of Carroll, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Eileen Seaman of Woodbine, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, an older sister, Ruth and her husband, Donald, a younger sister, Harriett and her husband, Jerry Freeh and a younger brother, Harold Seaman.
