Greg Koedam, 78, of Ashton, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon with Father Siby Punnoose, officiating. A time of fellowship will follow after the graveside service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church fellowship hall.

Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Gregory J. Koedam, son of Herman and Agnes (Beeson) Koedam, was born April 3, 1948, in Parkston, South Dakota. The family moved to Sheldon in 1961. Greg attended Sheldon High School.

Greg married JoAnn Jones on April 3, 1985. Greg passed away, April 11, 2026.

Left to cherish his memory, are his wife, JoAnn of Ashton; children, Dawn (Andy) Kancel of Granbury, Texas, Shauna Ramolel of Kingsley, Iowa and Chad Koedam of North Richland Hills, Texas; grandchildren, Angela, Paige, Abby, Cody, Reese, Brenna and Megan; eight great grandchildren; brother, Mark Koedam of Hartley, Iowa and many relatives and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Landon Kancel and brothers, Thomas and Timothy.
