Isaac Harold Hector, affectionately known as Booty to his family and friends, died on June 28, 2017, in Sheldon, IA surrounded by his family. Harold was born on September 23, 1927 in Sheldon, IA to Garrett and Tillie (Kamies) Hector. Booty graduated from Sheldon High School in 1945 where he was a star basketball player, receiving many honors. He went on to play basketball in Sheldon Junior College where he exceled in the sport. He attended University of Northern Iowa where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in business and physical education as well as being on the basketball team. He was a Tech 5 in the United States Army and served in Korea from 1946 -1947. He married his beautiful bride, Marlys on December 30, 1948 and they were married for 67 years. He worked as an office manager for Mormon Feed for many years before he fulfilled a life long dream of owning his own business. He and his wife Marlys operated Home Furniture Store in Sheldon for many years where they enjoyed meeting and serving their customers. In 1983, Harold moved to Mesa, AZ where he brought his knowledge of the furniture industry to Kerbys Furniture where he worked as a salesman. Harold attended First Reformed Church in Sheldon and later in Mesa he attended Central Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing with Marlys and his prize catch was a tuna he caught while deep-sea fishing in the Bahamas. Booty was an avid Phoenix Suns fans and he and his wife never missed a game. He loved to play cards and was still active in two different card groups. Bootys love in life was his family. He rarely went anywhere without his wife Marlys. He was always doing something with or for his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and always fondly remembered. His wife Marlys, his parents Garrett and Tillie, his brother Robert, and his daughter, Debby preceded him in death. His four children, Terri Keizer of Scottsdale, AZ, Sharon Pillow of Apache Junction, AZ, Jeff Hector of Sheldon, IA and Rita Bucey of Barlow, KY, his 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, survive him.
