Helen Dammann, age 91, of Sheldon, Iowa who passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon, Iowa. Her service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Rev. Andrew Hilla ~ officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in George, Iowa.
Visitation with the family present will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa.
Social distancing guidelines will take place.
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

HELEN F. DAMMANN
Helen F. Dammann (Rosenboom) was born June 27, 1928 to Andrew H. and Katherine (Habben) Rosenboom at the family farm north of Boyden, Iowa. She received her education in the Boyden Public School and graduated from high school in 1945. She worked at the Boyden Produce for several years, Smit & Son Meat Market as bookkeeper and then began working as a bookkeeper-teller for the Farmers Savings Bank which became Citizens State Bank in Boyden until her retirement in December of 2013. She married Floyd H. Dammann on October 14, 1960. They farmed near George, Iowa and Archer, Iowa. In 1965, they purchased the Rosenboom family farm near Boyden and farmed there for several years before selling the farm and retained the acreage. Her husband Floyd passed away on January 17, 1997 and she bought a home in Sheldon, Iowa. As the years passed, she then became a resident in the Christian Retirement Home in February of 2009. She resided there until failing health became an issue of her mobility. She became a resident at the Sanford Senior Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa on September 7, 2018. She passed away at Sanford Senior Care on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 reaching the age of 91 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in various church organizations.
Helen is survived by one brother, Bill Rosenboom and his wife, Leona of Sheldon, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Fern Rosenboom of Prairie View Campus in Sanborn, Iowa; Lavonne Meyer of George, Iowa; Mary Dammann of Sheldon, Iowa; Gladys and Norman Moret of Boyden, Iowa and Marilyn Dammann of Toledo, Iowa, many loved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, one sister, Ella Rosenboom, a brother, John Rosenboom, parents-in-law, Harry and Marie Dammann, three brothers-in-law, Orval and Arnold Dammann and Irvin Meyer.
