IRMA P. FINTEL
Irma Pauline Fintel the daughter of Dierich and Esther (Erdelt) Grell was born March 15, 1937 in Chalco, Nebraska. She received her education in Chalco and later graduated from high school in Millard, Nebraska. After graduation she was employed as a secretary. On February 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Fintel in Millard, Nebraska. After their marriage the couple farmed west of Paullina for many years. Wilbert preceded her in death on November 1, 1989 in Rochester, Minnesota. Irma remained on the family farm and moved into Paullina in 1991. While in Paullina she enjoyed traveling and took many bus trips. She collected crystal and birds, playing cards and enjoyed being in a card club. Irma also did volunteer work with Human Services. She had a long friendship with Roger Fuhrman who passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017. Irma moved to Whispering Heights Assisted Living in Sioux City in 2016. She passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Whispering Heights reaching the age of 80 years, 6 months and 26 days.
She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on March 18, 1952 and was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and the Ladies Aid of the church.
Irma is survived by three sons, Randall Fintel and Scott Fintel both of Paullina, Iowa and Curtis (Kristin) Fintel of Portland, Oregon; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Alice Fintel of Paullina, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Joyce Fintel of Paullina, Iowa; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vernon Fintel.
