Services for Jim Fischer, age 63, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Living Water Community Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Pastor Jesse Walhof ~ officiating
Burial will be at a later date.
A drive thru visitation with family present will be Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Living Water Community Church.
Due to the current COVID-19 regulations we ask that everyone remain their distance and stay in their vehicles during the visitation. Also, the capacity of the church will be at 50 percent. JAMES FISCHER
James Fischer, the son of John and Catherine (Penning) Fischer was born on April 30, 1957 in Sheldon, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Sheldon High School. After graduation he went on to Northwest Iowa Community College for Auto Body. On June 8, 1979, he was united in marriage to Lori Tjeerdsma at Bethel Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved to Sheldon where they have resided their whole married life. Jim worked for Sudbeck Trucking as a milk hauler. On Monday, June 8, 2020, Jim passed away at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 63 years.
Jim was a member of Living Water Community Church in Sheldon. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working outside, fixing, and tinkering with things and enjoyed socializing with everyone.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife of 41 years, Lori of Sheldon; their children and their spouses, Jennifer and Robert Lange of St. Paul, Minnesota, Eric and Danielle Fischer of Dubuque, Iowa and Erica and Jeremy Vogelaar of Sheldon; six grandchildren, Lorelei and Asher Lange, Dylan and Jackson Fischer and Peyton and Ethan Vogelaar; his mother, Catherine Fischer of Sheldon; siblings, Jolene Fischer, Lyle (Darla) Fischer, Alan (Jill) Fischer, Robert (Robbie) Fischer and Gary and Kathy Fischer; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his dad, John.
