James D. "Jim" Ringheimer, 75, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care.  Family services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

James Dean "Jim" Ringheimer, Sr., age 75, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on July 9, 1950, in Wolsey, South Dakota, James was the fourteenth of sixteen children born to Arther and Ethelyn Ringheimer.

James will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and his passion for bringing joy to those around him. He cherished time spent with family and friends, whether gathered around a bonfire or enjoying the great outdoors through fishing and camping. A lover of racing, James had an adventurous spirit that touched every aspect of his life.

He is survived by his six daughters: Tanya, Shannon, Brandi, Jessica, Brittany, and Kimberly. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Brooke, Shai, Chasci, Kodi, Sheena, Allie, Katelyn, Michelle, Todd, Josh, Akira, Mason, Desiree, Makenzly, Nevaeh, Danielle, Jillian, Dominic, and Bentlee; along with 24 great-grandchildren. James also leaves behind many special friends who will hold his memory dear.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son James "Jimmy Jr." Ringheimer Jr.; several siblings; and a close friend Rick.

His warmth and humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him. May James’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him and laughter to those who recall his joyful spirit.
