Judith Kay “Judi” Hocking was born on November 10, 1946, in Lake City, Iowa, the second daughter and third child of Ralph and Roma Hocking.
Judi’s life was filled with love, adventure, and determination. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1964 and married Douglas Scott Mullins on June 6, 1965. Together, they had two sons: Matthew Michael Mullins and David Douglas Mullins.
Her passion for sales led her to work with companies such as Weight Watchers, Pitney Bowes, and Philip Morris before retiring from Ingram Entertainment. After retirement, Judi moved to Paullina, Iowa, to be closer to her sister, Jacque Puhrmann, and family.
Judi’s later years were filled with visits from her sons, nieces, and nephews, along with cherished trips to Virginia and Illinois to spend time with her granddaughter Lindsey, and grandsons Conor and Carson. The birth of her great-grandson, JJ, in 2020 made FaceTime a daily joy and a vital connection.
An avid reader and talented painter, Judi found fulfillment in creativity and knowledge. Fiercely independent, she lived life on her own terms and was a proud advocate for women’s rights. There was little she couldn’t accomplish.
Surrounded by family in her final days, Judi passed away peacefully in her home on June 12, 2025.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Roma, her sisters Barbra and Jacqueline, brothers John and Jody. She is survived by her sons Matthew (Nicole), David (Sangelll), grandchildren, various nieces & nephews.
