JUDITH JUDY E.SHEFFIELD
Judith Judy Elin Sheffield, the only daughter of Harold and Ellen (Landgren) Jung, was born on June 7, 1937, in Mason City, Iowa. Her early school years were spent in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Charles City, Iowa. In 1949, the family moved to Clarion, Iowa, and Judy graduated from Clarion High School in 1955. She attended Luther College for 2 years to get a teaching certificate. She then taught in Klemme and Goldfield, Iowa. Judy was married in 1957, and 3 sons were born to this union: Danny, David, and Richard. On August 9, 1969, she was married to Thomas J. Sheffield in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and they joined their two families, resulting in 8 children. They moved to Boyden, Iowa, and established their home. Judy worked as a teachers aide in the Boyden-Hull School, and later she worked at Demco full time for 27 years, until her retirement in 1999.
Judy was Queen Mum of the Boyden Bell Red Hat Society and was also a member of the Boyden Book Club. She was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church, taking part in the choir and Bible Study and the yearly sewing days. Her passion was quilting, and she made beautiful quilts for her family members.
Judy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom; and their children, Susan (Gary) Sheets of Goldfield, Iowa; Elizabeth Simental of Goldfield, Iowa; John (Alecia) Sheffield of North Plains, Oregon; Danny Poolman of Platte City, Missouri; David (Pam) Sheffield of Rock Valley, Iowa; David (Tina) Poolman of Ventura, California; Richard (Michelle) Poolman of Chino, California; Rebecca (Troy) Hudson of Peru, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Levi Sheets, and 2 great-grandsons, Jackson Poolman and Cash Sheffield Rolling.
