JUNE E. MILLER
June Elaine Miller, the daughter of George Sr. and Emma (Beermann) Puhrmann was born October 2, 1924 in OBrien County, Iowa. She attended country school Baker # 7, Zion Lutheran School in Paullina and on May 12, 1943 graduated from Paullina High School. In June 1943, she started working for A.L. Livingstone Department Store working in the dry goods and then in the grocery department. In June 1944, she began employment with the Paullina Telephone Company working until March 1946. On October 28, 1945, she was united in marriage to Clifford Miller at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. To this union, they were blessed with two daughters and two sons. The couple farmed the Miller family farm, north of Cleghorn, where they remained until retiring to Paullina in December 1992. In February of 2009, they moved to the Heartland Care Center in Marcus. Her husband preceded her in death on December 12, 2010. June remained at the Care Center and passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 reaching the age of 90 years, 2 months and 29 days.
She was baptized on November 2, 1924 and later confirmed on May 21, 1939 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina where she was currently a member. Her lifes dedication was to her faith, family and farming. The many hours of joyous fun filled activities shared with her family will be forever cherished in our hearts. She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing cards, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and raising Siberian Huskies.
June is survived by her three children and their spouses, Paul and Janet Miller of Paullina; Nancy and Glenn Eckert of Lawton; Jim and Traci Miller of Remsen; nine grandchildren, Travis Miller, Heather (Bill) Bremer, Tyler Miller; Sarah, Aaron, and Katie Eckert; Cameron, Courtney and Carver Miller; 3 great grandchildren, Annika, Jillian and Lydia Bremer; five sisters-in-law, Audrey Puhrmann of Paullina; Verlie Yockey of Sioux City; Veniece Young of Cleghorn; Vera Stoltze of Sioux City and Ruby Miller of Paullina; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Gwendolyn; her parents, four sisters, Gladys, Elsie, Ruth and Emily; six brothers, George Jr., Bently, Ray, Martin, Lee and Ralph.
