Memorial services for Leona C. Rosenboom, age 89, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden with Pastor Brian Shafer, officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Sheridan Township Cemetery in Boyden.
Visitation with the family present will be following the memorial service at the DEMCO Center in Boyden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Boyden Fire Department or Boyden Public Library.
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Leona Carol (Van Maanen) Rosenboom, the daughter of Hyman and Margaret (Moret) Van Maanen, was born Oct. 27, 1935, at Boyden, Iowa. She passed away Sept. 15, 2025. It was also our 70th wedding anniversary that day and she did remember as I held her hand. She graduated from Boyden High School in 1954. On Sept 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Rosenboom at First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa. Leona loved music and she sang in a ladies trio for a good many years in the United Presbyterian Church where she was a member and surrounding churches. She and her husband Bill also sang duets at many churches locally and in Arizona for over twenty some years. She loved our Lord and wanted to serve Him best she knew how. She was always kiddingly saying she was her husband’s star pupil in adult Sunday School. She taught students in Junior missionary and was the first cook for the church kids in the winter evening program once a week for three years and simply loved it and the kids to. She couldn’t do enough for her Lord. She was very ready to be “Going Home”.
Leona leaves to cherish the love of her life, “Bill” of Sheldon, Iowa. Her two sons, Randy and Heather of Estherville, Iowa and Bruce and Jayne of Sioux Center, Iowa; Grandchildren Drew and Sierra Rosenboom of Phoenix, Arizona, Molly and Brett Rutherford of St Michael, Minnesota, Jon Rosenboom of Sioux Center, Iowa, Laura and Jack Moores of St. Paul, Minnesota, Will and Laura Rosenboom of Jupiter, Florida; Patrick Rosenboom of Estherville, Iowa and Sadie Rosenboom of Ankeny Iowa; two step granddaughters Nikita and Sydney; great grandchildren Leo and London Rosenboom of Phoenix, Arizona, Bryce, Max and Cambrie Rutherford of St Michael, Minnesota Bronson Rosenboom of Estherville, Iowa, Ainsley, Connor Rosenboom of Sioux Center, Iowa, Martin and Alice Moores of St. Paul, Minnesota and Charlotte Rosenboom of Jupiter, Florida; one brother Larry Moret of Boyden, Iowa and a sister-in-law Gladys Moret of Sheldon, Iowa also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hyman and Margaret Van Maanen, grandparents Leonard and Mary Moret, brothers Ken (Rose) Van Maanen and Norm Moret; in laws John (Fern) Rosenboom, Ella Rosenboom, Helen (Floyd) Dammann.
