LLOYD A. EBEL
Lloyd Allyn Ebel, age 63 of Paullina, Iowa passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. Lloyd was born to Harry and Margaret (Fiddelke) Ebel on June 27, 1953. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1971 and went directly into farming outside Germantown, Iowa. Lloyd went to work at Wells Blue Bunny on February 14, 1994 until present where over the years came to know his co-workers as his second family. He garnered the esteem of all his co-workers.
He married Lois Vortherms on April 10, 1976 at St Anthonys Church in Hospers, Iowa. They had three children; Jennifer Ann, Dawn Marie, and Lee Allyn.
Lloyd had the biggest heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Germanton, Iowa; volunteer on the Germantown Fire Department; and was a Caledonia Township trustee. With farming being his one true passion, he would always help out any neighbor and friend that needed it. Plus working on his green thumb with his ever growing vegetable garden.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing with his grandsons. His favorite past time, as so many know, was going on fishing trips with his family, many friends and grandsons. He would be planning the next trip before the current one was even over!!
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lois; daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy) Jalas; Dawn (Todd) Honkomp, and his son Lee Ebel. Grandchildren are Tory and Kyson Jalas and Benjamin and Reed Honkomp. His mother, Margaret Ebel and siblings, Lori (Greg) Sjaarda, Doug (Deb) Ebel, Dan (Kim) Ebel, Kathi (Leland) Schmidt, and Kari (Mark) Lange.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Harry Ebel; two sisters, Joni and Judi; and father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Rosella Vortherms.
