LOIS DENBESTE UITTENBOGAARD
Lois DenBeste Uittenbogaard, age 100 of Chesapeake, Ohio and formerly of the Hospers, Iowa area, passed away quietly in her sleep on October 5, 2016. Following her death, a memorial service was held at Second Presbyterian Church of Huntington, WV that was her church home for many years.
Her Interment will be June 23, 2017 at 1:00pm in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, IA, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
The first 80 years of her life were lived on farms in northwest Iowa, first as a daughter and then as a wife and mother. She joined First Presbyterian Church in Hospers, IA in 1950 and was a member for the rest of her life. A few years after the death of her husband John, she moved to Chesapeake OH, where she lived with her daughter Elaine and son-in-law Kerry Tutt.
However, she always kept up-to-date on what was happening back in Iowa through her subscriptions to the local newspapers, and remembered with affection the years that Northwest Iowa was her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and her daughter Elaine. She is survived by her son, the Rev. Roger Uittenbogaard and his wife the Rev. Suzanne Uittenbogaard of Lebanon, PA, her son-in-law Kerry Tutt of Chesapeake who was a loving caregiver for her during her last years, and her grandson Jeffrey Tutt and his wife Catherine of Columbus, Ohio.
