            Services for Lorna L. Bennett, age 77, of rural Paullina who passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at her residence.  Her funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Sutherland Church of Christ with Pastor John Erickson ~ officiating.

            Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

            Visitation with family present will be from 3 – 5 P.M. on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

    Lorna Lucille Bennett, age 77, of Paullina, Iowa passed away November 3, 2022.

     Lorna Lucille Edwards was born April 23, 1945, in Correctionville, Iowa, the daughter of Ivan Elliot and Helen Irean (Chase) Edwards.  She was baptized and later confirmed at the Quimby Lutheran Church.  She attended Quimby, Grand Meadow and Marcus schools graduating from Marcus High School in 1964.  

     She was united in marriage to Bernard (Bernie) Bennett on June 21, 1964, in Kingsley, Iowa.  In 1966 Bernie and Lorna moved to the farm north of Paullina to raise their family.  To this union three children were born Kirt, Russell and Christy.   Lorna ‘s kind heart led her to assisting those who needed help.  Over her lifetime she worked in the nursing home and home health fields, and most recently kept active managing rental properties.  She enjoyed being outside, mowing yards, decorating, going to garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren.  She passed away at her home in rural Paullina on Thursday, November 3, 2022, reaching the age of 77 years six months and ten days.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

     Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 58 years Bernie Bennett of rural Paullina, Iowa; her oldest son Kirt (Kaye) Bennett of Punta Gorda, Florida; son Russell (Jill) Bennett and daughter Christy Bennett all of rural Paullina, Iowa; three grandchildren Staff Sergeant Spencer Bennett, Eli Bennett and Amy Bennett and one great granddaughter Aubrey Bennett; her siblings; Deloris Brown, Sally Joines (Merlin Frey), Carol (Bryan) Peterson, Deb Stevens, Patrick Edwards, Darrell Edwards also many nieces, nephews ; other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Helen and her siblings Mary Ripple, Donna Johnson, Michael Edwards and Ivan “Butch” Edwards.
