Funeral services for Lorraine H. Grothaus, age 99, of Primghar, who passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown with Rev. Carl Stenzel, officiating.
Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown.
Visitation with the family present will be from 1 to 1:45 P.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Lorraine Helen Grothaus the daughter of William and Metha (Richter) Koehlmoos was born April 9, 1926 in Paullina, Iowa. She attended St. John Lutheran School and Paullina School graduating with a G.E.D. She worked at the Veterans Hospital in Temple Texas while her future husband Darrel was stationed at Camp Hood, Texas. On August 19, 1945 she was united in marriage to Darrel H. Grothaus at the First Lutheran Church in Temple Texas. After Darrel’s honorable discharge from the Army, the couple returned to the Paullina area where they farmed for 20 years before moving to a farm south of Primghar where they farmed for 25 years. They retired and moved into Primghar in 1992. Darrel preceded her in death on April 29, 1997 in Primghar.
She is currently a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown where she was baptized and confirmed. She enjoyed baby sitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and going on trips with Darrel. She also did needle work and worked in her flower garden. Her family and friends meant a lot to her.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory her two sons Ronald and Sharon Grothaus and Roger and Gerda Grothaus all of Primghar, Iowa; grandchildren David (Tracy) Grothaus of Laurens, Iowa; Jeff (Mickelle) Grothaus of Primghar, Iowa; Jason (Kim) Grothaus of Lakewood, Colorado; Ryan (Courtney) Grothaus of Omaha, Nebraska; Drs. Kallie (Michael) Wegmann of Alanson, Michigan; great grandchildren Kevin (Alivia) Grothaus, Kelsie (Mike) Menke. Alex Plasier, Hannah and Hunter Grothaus, Hope, Haidyn and Hailey Wegmann, Harper and Jax Grothaus, a great great grandson Henry Grothaus, step great grandchildren McKenzie Schaap and Jaden Bobzien, step great great grandchildren Jr. Dudley and Xcey Hatter, a sister Roverda and her husband Ron Cullison of Paullina, Iowa; brother-in-law Wayne Grothaus of Mesa, Arizona also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell, parents, four brothers and three sisters-in-laws Elroy (Mildred) Koehlmoos, Lee Koehlmoos, Gerhard (Barb) Koehlmoos, Orrie (Bev) Koehlmoos and Joanne Grothaus.
