Luella Wallin, 94, of Paullina passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 21, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown with Rev. Carl Stenzel, officiating.

Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Visitation with family present will be 10 to 10:45 A.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Luella M. Wallin

Luella Mary (Bay) Wallin, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Peters) Bay, was born in Woodbury County (near Correctionville, Iowa) on May 22, 1931. She grew up on a rural farm in Correctionville where she attended Country School until March 1945 when she moved to her mother’s family farm near Germantown, Iowa. She graduated from Paullina High School in 1949. On February 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Floyd Wallin at St John’s Lutheran Church, Germantown. After the marriage the couple farmed southwest of Germantown. Together they lived, farmed, and raised 3 children until Floyd’s passing in 1994. Luella continued to live on the farm until 2005 when she moved to Paullina, Iowa.

She was a long-time member of the St. John’s Ladies Aid and was involved with the braille workshop for many years. Luella and Floyd owned Wallin’s Service in Germantown, Iowa from 1972 until 1982. They were Sioux City Journal Dealers from January 1, 1987, until retiring on August 1, 2002.

Luella enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s school events. She spent many afternoons in her large garden on the farm. She was a member of the Ladies Bowling and Golfing League’s in Paullina, Iowa. Luella enjoyed working on her crossword puzzles and reading magazines.

She is survived by her children, Pamela List of Arizona, Craig Wallin of Germantown, Iowa; granddaughters, Nicole List, Leah Wallin, Erin Wallin, and Haley Cartwright; and three great-grandsons.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Floyd; son, Kent Wallin; her sister, Lorraine Cave, as well as other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Germantown.
