Marlene S. Pipho, age 84, of Paullina, Iowa who passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina with Rev. Donald Meyer & Rev. Charles Kramer ~ officiating.
Visitation with the family present will be following the service in the fellowship hall of the Zion
Lutheran Church in Paullina.
Social distancing will be practiced during the visitation and funeral.
Arrangements are with the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

MARLENE S. PIPHO
Marlene Sylvia (Muhlenbruck) Pipho was born September 19, 1935 in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Henrietta (Janssen) Muhlenbruck. She was baptized on October 27, 1935 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hampton, Iowa. She grew up on a farm near Latimer, Iowa where she attended Latimer Public School in grades K-6. She then attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in grades 7 and 8. Marlene was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church on May 1, 1949. She attended CAL Community High School where she graduated in 1953. After graduating from high school Marlene worked at Mason City Brick & Tile in Mason City, Iowa and Carlson Insurance Agency in Latimer, Iowa.
Marlene was united in marriage to Donald Pipho at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer, Iowa on June 14, 1963. In August of 1963, they moved to Ogallala, Nebraska where Don taught school. During this time, she worked at the Soil Conservation Office in Grant, Nebraska and at the hospital in Ogallala, Nebraska.
The couple moved to Paullina, Iowa in 1966 where Don accepted a call to teach. While in Paullina Marlene worked for several businesses including the Paullina Times, Paullina Plumbing, First National Bank, Lange’s Café and AEA #4.
Marlene enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting and crocheting. She and her husband were active members of Zion Lutheran Pairs and Spares since they moved here in 1966. Marlene passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at her home in Paullina.
Marlene is survived by her husband Donald of Paullina, Iowa, three children Pauline and David both of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Dennis of Palm Springs, California. Her mother-in-law, Viola (Haeseker) Pipho of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Harlan and friend, Sheryl of Latimer, Iowa; sister, Carolyn (Muhlenbruck) Keller and husband, Dean of Clarion, Iowa; three brothers-in-law, Richard Pipho and wife, Neatha of Grimes, Iowa; Darroll Pipho and wife, Janice of Denver, Colorado; and Duane Pipho and wife, Bobie of Casa Grande, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Carol Lewis (Pipho) and husband, Dan of Owasso, Oklahoma and Eileen Bruesewitz (Pipho) and her husband, Ron of Minocqua, Wisconsin also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
