MARY “KATHY” K. UHRICH
Mary “Kathy” Kathleen Uhrich, the daughter of Leroy and Alice (Novenski) Kummerfeld, was born May 25, 1952 in Cherokee, Iowa. Kathy grew-up and attended school in Sutherland, Iowa, she graduated from Sutherland High School in 1970. She went on to further her education at NW Iowa Technical College in Sheldon graduating with an accounting degree. Kathy worked at Aalf’s Manufacturing in production sewing from 1972 – 1999. She then worked at KT Industries from 2000 – 2007 until she retired. On June 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Reuben Uhrich at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sheldon. Kathy passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 66 years, 7 months and 1 day.
Kathy was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the churches ladies guild. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, riding on a motorcycle with Ron, reading, and enjoying time on Facebooking.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Ronald “Ron” Uhrich; her sister, Karolyn (Larry) Freking of LeMars, Iowa; 2 brothers, Richard (Gail) Kummerfeld of Rockwell City, Iowa and Charles (Lila) Kummerfeld of Sutherland, Iowa; 3 brothers-in-law, Loren (Sherry) Ubben of Lincoln, Nebraska; Gregg (Diane) Ubben of Omaha, Nebraska; Brian (Joyce) Ubben of Ceresco, Nebraska and many other relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Leroy, and a brother, Kenneth Kummerfeld.
