MAXINE E. DEANIE RICHTER
Maxine Edith Richter, the daughter of Rhiney and Grace (Anderson) Rogers was born July 27, 1928 in Primghar, Iowa. She received her education in Paullina and graduated from Paullina High School in 1946. She then taught country school for one year. On September 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Leslie Richter at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. The couple starting farming in the Paullina area for Les dad Walt until 1952 when Les was called into the service. Deanie moved with Les to Virginia for two years. The couple returned to Paullina in 1954 and again Les worked for his dad, Walt until 1958 when the couple started farming on their own outside of Granville, Iowa. They remained farming until their retirement in 1992. The couple remained on the family farm until 2011, when they moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa. She passed away at Prairie View on Thursday, November 24, 2016 reaching the age of 88 years, 3 months and 27 days.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. She enjoyed traveling with Les, knitting, crocheting Afghans for family members, cooking, gardening and she canned much of the produce.
Deanie is survived by her husband, Les of Sanborn, Iowa; two children, a daughter, Sandy Pearson of rural Granville, Iowa and son, Blair of Paullina, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lezlie Pearson, Amanda (Lee) Moerman, Elizabeth Siepka and Andrew Pearson; seven great grandchildren; Michael, Jonathan, Jessica Moerman, Curtis and Lukaus Pearson and Skylar and JR Siepka; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Carvell Pearson; her parents, a sister, Phyllis and husband, Loren Nielsen and a brother, Ben and his wife, Cathy Rogers.
