Patrice C. De Hoogh
Patrice Claire De Hoogh, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Nelson) Robertson was born on August 26, 1916 in Stuart, Nebraska. She received her education and graduated from O’Neil High School in Nebraska. She was united in marriage to John De Hoogh on October 30, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to Iowa City, Iowa and Bunker Hill, Indiana while her husband was in the service. They returned to rural Sheldon where the couple farmed. In 1977 they moved to Sheldon. Patrice worked as a bookkeeper at Armors, Chase Lumber and Hemerson Vet Clinic and later worked at Ben Franklin as a clerk. Her husband preceded her in death on June 13, 2004 in Sheldon. She passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon reaching the age of 96 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Patrice was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheldon where belonged to Ladies Circle. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed painting and sewing.
Patrice is survived by a son John F. “Jack” De Hoogh and his wife Susan of Sheldon, Iowa; two grandchildren, Matthew De Hoogh of Des Moines, Iowa and Angela and her husband Tony Cohoon of Graettinger, Iowa; one great granddaughter Audrianna and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister Carol Jean Robertson.
