Services for Paul B. Jensen, age 97, of Marcus, formerly of Sutherland who passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus.  His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina with Marj Feltman ~ officiating.

Burial will be at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland with military rights presented by Sutherland American Legion Post #152.

Visitation with family present will be from 1 P.M. until the service on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

After today’s graveside service, relatives, and friends are

invited to join the family at the Sutherland Fire Station.

Paul Bernhardt Jensen, the son of Jens Harold and Gerta (Magnuesen) Jensen was born on September 18, 1925, in Hartley, Iowa.  He received his education and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1943.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1943 during World War II and the Korean war being honorable discharged in 1946.  He was united in marriage to Earleen Lange on December 22, 1956, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.  Paul drove truck for many years until purchasing the Old PO Restaurant in 1974.  This was their life until 1992 at which time they sold the business and retired.  Earleen preceded Paul in death on February 5, 2011.  Paul remained in Sutherland until entering the Heartland Care Center in Marcus in 2020.  Paul passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, reaching the age of 97 years, 9 months, and 2 days.

     Paul enjoyed playing all kinds of cards, going to bingo and the casino, and putting together puzzles.

     Left to cherish his memory are his children, Noel and Edie Lange of North Mankato, Minnesota, Jeff and Joni Jensen of Round Rock, Texas, Kelley Jensen of Aurelia and Lisa Huckaby and special friend Tim Klatt of Peterson, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Sue Lange of Rochester, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
