PEGGY J. WATTS
Peggy Jean Crouch was born on January 3, 1937, in Primghar, Iowa, and was the daughter of Ivyl and Ethel (McGee) Crouch. On April 3, 1954, Peggy married Sylvester (Bub) Watts. To this union, five daughters were born. Bub and Peggy lived in Iowa, Arizona, Colorado, Germany, Texas, Georgia, and finally settled back in Primghar, Iowa, after Bub retired from the Army. Bub passed away on December 19, 1991. Reading was one of Peggy’s passions. She became the head librarian at the Primghar Public Library on July 1, 1978 and continued this role until January 1, 2007. She would fill in at the library and worked her last day there on April 13, 2018. She also led the book club for many years. Another passion of Peggy’s was her church. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Primghar where she helped with Faith Walkers, was involved in the Friendship Circle, and assisted wherever was needed. Peggy also enjoyed being a member of the Progress Club.
Peggy will be remembered for her gentle spirit; her selflessness; her loving and kind personality, which touched many lives; and her deep love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Dale and Jack Crouch; sister, Mona Miller; great-grandson, Andrew Dean Ferguson; great-granddaughter, McClay Powell; and great-great-grandson, Canaan Deas.
Left to cherish Peggy’s legacy are her five daughters: Joann (Lee) Powell of Aiken, SC; Rhonda (Roger) Zweimiller of Great Mills, MD; Sherrie (Stan) Ferguson of Charter Oak, IA; Judy (Fred) Carpenter of Wagner, SD; and Patty Perkins of Austin, TX. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Don (Carol) Crouch, sister Joyce (Jiggs) Bethel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends.

Let the pages be ever turning
Let the words run on and on
May my eyes be ever reading
My imagination ever strong

Let my mind remain wide open
To the discoveries within
May I never lose this passion
For a story to begin

May the stories, they be plentiful
May I find my cozy nook
To ever read and carry on
The love of a good book.
