            Services for Randy R. Mews, age 67, of Sutherland who passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at his residence.  His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina with Marj Feltman ~ officiating.

            Burial will be at Liberty Township Cemetery in Calumet.

            There will be no visitation.

            Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

  Randy Roger Mews, was born at Cherokee Hospital on November 5, 1955.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Calumet Church of Christ.  He grew up on the farm northwest of Larrabee, Iowa.  He received his education at Larrabee and Cherokee schools.  His working career was spent as a form laborer and the majority being in the construction trade.  Randy enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing and socializing with family and friends.  Randy had made his home in Sutherland for more than 20 years, where he was enjoying his retirement.  Randy passed away on February 10, 2023, at his home reaching the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

     Randy was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Mews, his mother, Delores Schilling and stepfather, Earl Schilling.

     Left to cherish Randy’s memory are his brothers, Rick and Ann Mews of rural Paullina, Tim and Joleen Mews of Calumet, and Danny Mews of Cherokee; nephew, Heath, and Jill Mews of rural Sutherland, two nieces, Tonya and Justin Smith of Doon, Iowa, and Holly and Josh Jacobsen of Boone, Iowa; one grandnephew, Isaac Jacobsen and four grand nieces, Savanna and Jorja Smith, Faith Jacobsen, and Mirabella Mews.
