Services for Rebecca S. Boyer, age 83, of Sheldon who passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.

Arrangements are pending at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Rebecca Sue Boyer, the daughter of Charles and Faye (Fleming) Andre was born on August 13, 1941, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She attended Arapahoe High School, went on to marry Raymond Boyer, and were blessed with two children, Diana and John. After a number of years, they parted but kept in touch through family.

Through her life, Rebecca had various job titles outside the home (both part-time and full-time) including site manager for AARP; but her favorite titles by far were those of Mom and Grammy. Rebecca peacefully passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, at the age of 83.

Rebecca’s faith was the foundation of her life, and she loved to spend time every morning with the Lord in devotions and prayer, drawing strength & joy for the day. She also deeply loved spending time with her all her family, proudly attending her grandchildren’s activities in person, or live stream. With her little dog Angel as her sweet companion, Rebecca enjoyed quiet days reading, watching her favorite sports teams, and listening to Christian music or Andrea Boccelli. Rebecca was a wonderful cook and baker; her delicious banana bread is legendary.

Left to cherish Rebecca’s memory are her two children and their spouses, Diana and Steve De Kok of Sheldon, and John and Crystal Boyer of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren: Noah Roy, Taylor (Sintija), Christina (Danial), Kyndra, Caleb, Brennan, Aubree, Sarang; great grandchildren: David, Kaia, Noah Roy Jr., Violet, Samuel, and Dallas. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Carolyn Stagemeyer of Longview, Washington, also other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her dear parents, and her siblings, Charles, Robert, James, and Nell, their spouses, and her brother-in-law, Dean Stagemeyer.
