Services for Richard R. Honkomp, age 86, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Richard R. Honkomp

Richard Rudolph Honkomp, the son of Edward and Grace (Jellesma) Honkomp was

born on July 28, 1939, in Ashton, Iowa. He received his education from St. Joseph’s

Catholic School. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Judith Corbett at St.

Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton. Richard was a chemical representative for

Monsanto. He passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Sanford Sheldon

Medical Center at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 17 days.

Richard was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Judith Honkomp; three sons, Father Clinton

Honkomp, Joseph and his wife Cheryl Honkomp and Patrick and his wife Tara

Honkomp; six grandchildren (Jacob Honkomp, Lisle Honkomp, Lauren Morrow, Aidan

Honkomp, Jocelyn Honkomp, Evelynn Honkomp); three great grandchildren; siblings,

David (Carol) Honkomp, William (Connie) Honkomp, Thomas (Charlene) Honkomp,

Janice (Steve) Kruger, Nancy (Alan) Wassenaar; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Honkomp and

Linda Honkomp; brother-in-law, Gerald Block; also, other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas, three brothers, Robert,

Jerald and Daniel, one sister, Mary Jo Block.
