           Steven W. Nilles, age 62, of Sheldon passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa.  His Memorial Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Father Siby Punnoose ~ officiating

            Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ashton, Iowa at a later date.

            Visitation with family present will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon

     Steven William Nilles, the son of William “Bill” and Mary Clare (Thiele) Nilles was born April 28, 1961 in Sheldon, Iowa. Steve was raised in the Ashton and Sheldon area. He attended Spalding Catholic School graduating in 1979. Steve delivered newspaper for White Wolf Web for several years.  Steve passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 unexpectedly at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 62 years and 8 months.

     Steve was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon and of the Sheldon Knights of Columbus. He loved being around horses.

     Steve is survived by his 3 children, Stephanie Landhuis of Sheldon, Iowa; Steven (Ashli) Landhuis of Archer, Iowa and Amanda Henning of George, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Jaivyn Logan and Kora Jo Landhuis; a special friend, Wynita Zorgdragger of Sheldon, Iowa; his parents, Bill and Mary Jean Nilles of Sheldon, Iowa; his brothers and sisters, Barb Nilles of Sibley, IA, Karen Nilles of Omaha, Nebraska; Joe and Angie Nilles of Sheldon, Iowa; step-sister, Kim Mitchell of Denver, Colorado; Sue and Bill Francis of Waukee, Iowa; Mark and Paula Nilles of Boyden, Iowa; Michelle and Rajit Kabadi of Chantilly, Virgina; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

      He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Clare (Thiele) Nilles and an infant sister, Brenda.
