He was a long-standing member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon where his volunteer positions were long and varied.
Thelmar served his community and wider world in a variety of ways; selling kettle corn for the Kiwanis, collecting paper and cardboard for Love, Inc., and countless trips to Haiti, just to name a few. He had a long career of over 30 years in the car service business with Koopman Motors and D & H Motors as service manager.
