TIMOTHY D. “TIM” PEDERSEN
Timothy Dean “Tim” Pedersen, the son of Glenn A. and Marilyn Joyce (Jacobsen) Pedersen was born February 17, 1957 in Sheldon, IA. He received his education in Sheldon, graduating from Sheldon High School in 1975, he then graduated from NITC (Northwest Iowa Community College) in Sheldon from the Heavy Equipment Program. After graduating he worked the open Mines in Gillette, WY for a year. He returned to Sheldon and was united in marriage to Kari A. Lokken on October 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. The couple made their home in Sheldon, and Tim worked for Bob Merley Jr. Excavating for 16 years. In 1994, Tim purchased the business and operated Pedersen Excavating Co. Tim passed away at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon on Monday, June 18, 2018 reaching the age of 61 years, 4 months and 1 day.
He was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon holding several different offices. He loved working and was known to say, “I am the luckiest person in the world, I get to knock things down, build them up and play in the dirt all day.” He enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoying his classic El Camino and his 1970 Chevrolet Pick-up. Tim would try to keep his Saturdays open, so he could help his family, friends and neighbors.
Tim leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years, Kari; a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Cameron Kramer of Lennox, South Dakota; 2 brothers and a sister, Steven Pedersen of Sioux Falls, SD; Susan and her husband, Kelly Higgins of Arvada, CO and Bradley Pedersen of Sheldon, IA; his mother-in-law, Mabel Lokken of Sheldon, IA; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
“But they that wait upon the Lord,
Shall renew their strength.
They shall soar on wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40: 31
