Funeral services for Vernon L. Ruschmann, age 73, of Primghar, who passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at his residence. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the United Church of Primghar with Pastor Mike Cooper ~ officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.

Visitation with family present will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.

Vernon Lee Ruschmann, the son of Karl and Frieda (Bern) Ruschmann was born on February 21, 1949, in Hull, Iowa. He graduated from Primghar School with the Class of 1967. During his younger years Vernon was active with the family farm helping with daily chores and field work. After graduation Vernon pursued auto mechanics but followed in his father’s footsteps working at Nicholson & Edwards Grain. He was proud to have worked there for 48 years. Vernon was blessed with five children in his lifetime, Candy, Kyle, Kendall, Courtney, and Adam. When he wasn’t working, Vernon could be found pursuing his hobbies of NASCAR, fishing, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Nancy (Wendell) Mortensen of Yankton, SD, his children, Candy Ruschmann (Jimmy Engelkes) of Hartley, IA, Kyle (Tina) Ruschmann of Van, TX, Kendall (Delicia) Ruschmann of Hospers, IA, Courtney Heronemus of Sheldon, IA, and Adam (Lindsey) Ruschmann of Sheldon, IA, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and his loving girlfriend, Louise Fennell.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Frieda Ruschmann, wife Cindy Perry, and granddaughter Bethany Ann Engelkes.
