Wilma DeBoer, age 95, of Sheldon passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Kevin Muyskens ~ officiating.

Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

WILMA DEBOER
Wilma DeBoer, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Andringa) Dykstra was born on November 3, 1925 in Philby, Iowa. She grew up in Hospers and attended Hospers Christian School. Wilma was united in marriage to Simon DeBoer on March 11, 1955 in Hospers, Iowa. They moved to Sheldon, Iowa where they farmed and milked cows for 32 years. They retired in 1995 and moved to town. They wintered in Texas for 15 years. Simon preceded Wilma in death on September 27, 2006. She remained at home until moving to Sanford Senior Care in April of 2021. Wilma passed away at Sanford Senior Care on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 7 days.
Wilma was a charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, baking, and crocheting. She also volunteered at the Sheldon nursing home.
Left to cherish Wilma’s memory are her two daughters and their husbands, Dorothy and Paul Postma of Orange City, Iowa and Carol and Mike Ling of Sibley, Iowa; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kristina) Postma, Justin (Kristen) Postma, Julie (Randy) Reiter, Dawn (Phil) Robertson, Travis Ling, Darrin Ling and Tiffany Ling; 5 great grandchildren, Haleigh, Eliana, Sadie and Walker Postma and Mason Robertson; her siblings, Hank (Joyce) Dykstra, Hilda Holtrop and Betty (Herm) Cooper; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Dykstra and Florence Dykstra; also other relatives and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Simon; son, Stanley DeBoer; a sister, Jessie (Walt) Vander Plaats; brothers, Jim Dykstra, Dick Dykstra, Don (Sharene) Dykstra, Gary (Julia) Dykstra and brother-in-law, John Holtrop.
