Services for Wilma Reese, age 95, of Primghar who passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. A private family service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 with Pastor Mike Cooper ~ officiating.
A public graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.
Masks will be required at the cemetery as well as social distancing guidelines.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.
Wilma Reese, the daughter of Wilhelm “Bill” and Marie (Reimers) Hansen was born on April 18, 1925 in Primghar, Iowa. She received her education from Primghar Schools and graduated from Primghar High School. She went on to attended Cedar Falls Teacher’s College. After graduation she taught at Mallard, West Bend, Emmetsburg and substituted at Primghar Schools. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Dale Reese in Primghar. The couple farmed east of Primghar. Dale and Wilma stayed on the farm until moving to Sanborn in 2016. Dale preceded Wilma in death on December 22, 2016. Wilma remained in Sanborn where she passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 reaching the age of 95 years, 7 months, and 13 days.
Wilma was an active member of the United Church of Primghar. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered at Primghar school, reading to many students. She enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards and scrabble.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill (Amy) Reese of Newaygo, Michigan; Doug Resse (Linda Severson) of Hartley and Carol VanDerSluis (Tom Blasco) of Primghar; four grandchildren, Nick (Amy) VanDerSluis, Jess (Tess) VanDerSluis, Stacy (Matt) Nelson and Shelly (Tony) Stark; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cheyenne, Gabe, Zoey and Austin.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale and brother, Dale Hansen.
